Strategic Plan Meeting, August 9, 2003 |

Members present: Dodi Walch, CDT, CIT, - Committee Chair; Diane
Zink, CCA, CIT, Sherri Muelhoefer, Cathy Andrew, CCA.
The Strategic Plan
Committee held a retreat on August 9, 2003 at the downtown library branch.
We reviewed the current strategic plan and made a few
modifications. The following is the current strategic plan for
Chapter 356.
The committee also agreed to
meet again about mid-year to review and update the action items.
The committee recommends to the president that the
Playhouse project not be committed to in 2003-2004.

External trends:
Tech industry is in a slump.
Military spending may rise.
Construction slow down.
More women are in construction.
Building prices are very cheap.
Lead times have shortened.
Insurance
is becoming harder to get.
Internal trends:
Childcare issues affect meeting attendance.
Less volunteer time available.

into the future effectively: |

Three
to Five Year Goals:
|
|
To
be “The Resource” for women in construction in the Pikes Peak Region. |

To
be a well-known name in the construction industry in the Pikes Peak
Region.

Strategies:
|
|
Develop
and refine processes for keeping members informed.
Develop committee guidelines
Develop process for keeping the public informed of our activities.
Increase the number of CCAs and CITs in the community.
Develop new sources of money.
Increase membership and retention.
Increase educational opportunities.
Implement new programs/projects.

People don’t ask who we are when our name is mentioned
Finances are not an issue
